Finish & care

Each board is sanded in multiple stages for a particularly smooth surface and then treated with high-quality food-safe wax oil.

A well-maintained finish keeps the surface water- and dirt-repellent. Moisture, grease and food residues stay on the surface instead of soaking into the wood. This also helps prevent stains and odours.

For the best results, we recommend lightly oiling the board once more before their first use.

The protective effect gradually diminishes through use and cleaning. Oil the board again when the wood starts to look drier or lighter, or when water no longer clearly sits on the surface.

Wash the board by hand with a soft sponge and a small amount of washing-up liquid. Dry it thoroughly and allow it to dry completely. Do not leave the board in water for extended periods or put it in the dishwasher.

Production & quality control

We work directly with our production partner in Vietnam. Because one of our co-founders lives in Vietnam, we remain close to material selection, product development and quality control.

Together with our local partners, we test, assess and improve our products throughout the process. We focus not only on the wood and construction, but also on details such as sanding, finishing and the final surface.

This means we know where our products are made and remain closely involved in how they are made.

Acacia Cutting Board - XL

Unique, natural acacia wood

Made from premium acacia with a beautiful natural grain, this generous 40 x 30 cm board offers ample room for large ingredients such as pumpkin, melon or a large joint of meat. Acacia is naturally strong and hygienic and stays beautiful for years with proper care. Each board has its own grain and shade for a warm, natural kitchen appearance.

Robust and stable

At 2.5 cm thick, the board sits firmly on your worktop. Its weight helps prevent sliding and integrated handles make lifting and moving easy. Non-slip feet add grip and protect the worktop. Work with control and comfort, even on larger cutting tasks.

Premium finish

The board is treated with high-quality, food-safe oil. This finish makes the surface water-repellent and more resistant to stains and scratches. Clean with lukewarm water and a little mild washing-up liquid, then dry immediately. Regular light oiling helps preserve its deep colour and smooth finish.

Versatile in use

Designed for preparation and serving alike. The juice groove contains juices and crumbs to keep the worktop clean. Prepare vegetables, meat or bread, then serve cheeses or snacks directly on the same board for a tidy, natural look. Practical in the kitchen and at home on a set table.

Why our cutting boards

A natural wooden board made from premium acacia, carefully produced and finished. With a juice groove and non-slip feet for safe, clean work. Its 2.5 cm thickness adds stability without feeling cumbersome on the worktop. A durable choice that is equally suited to serving.

Frequently asked questions

Cutting boards

What is the best way to care for my acacia or bamboo cutting board?

Our cutting boards are treated at the factory with top-quality oil for added protection against moisture and stains. For best results, regularly apply a thin coat of oil and always let the board dry completely after cleaning. Find the full care guide and advice on choosing oil here

How often should I oil my cutting board?

With normal use, once every 3 to 6 weeks is usually enough. If you use your board heavily or rinse it frequently, once every 2 to 4 weeks is better. When water no longer beads on the surface, it is time to oil it.

Which oils can I use, and which should I avoid?

Use a food-safe cutting board oil designed for wood, or a premium cutting board oil compatible with our original oil finish. Avoid cooking oils such as olive oil and sunflower oil, as they can become sticky or develop a stale smell over time. Find all the guidance and links here

Can the cutting board go in the dishwasher?

No. A dishwasher is too hot and wet, which can warp and dry out wood or bamboo. Rinse briefly with warm water, use mild soap if needed and dry immediately.

What is the best way to clean my cutting board?

Clean with warm water and, if needed, mild soap. Do not soak the board. Rinse briefly and dry immediately with a cloth. Then leave it upright to dry fully, allowing air to circulate on both sides.

Does the oil finish help protect against stains and moisture?

Yes. Our boards are treated at the factory with top-quality oil, giving them better protection against moisture and stains than many standard boards. Regular care keeps that protective layer in good condition.

My board feels rough after a while. What can I do?

This can happen when wood fibres rise slightly due to moisture or heavy use. Allow the board to dry completely first. If it still feels rough, sand it very lightly with fine-grit sandpaper, following the grain. Remove the dust and apply a thin coat of oil. This restores a smooth surface and keeps your board protected.

How we work

Where are your products made?

Our products are made in Vietnam, working closely with local makers and factories. We consciously choose craftsmanship, natural materials and a transparent process.

How do you ensure good working conditions?

Jan, Namture’s co-founder, lives in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and visits the factories very regularly. This gives us direct insight into production and allows us to make adjustments quickly when needed. Every product is made and checked with care, so you receive a beautiful, durable result.

How do you ensure good working conditions?

Because Jan is frequently on site and in close contact with the owner and team, we keep a close eye on working conditions. We choose long-term partnerships, with respect for the people who make our products.

Do you pay the makers a fair price?

Yes. We make fair agreements and pay a price that reflects craftsmanship and quality. This builds a partnership that benefits both the makers and the finished product.
