With normal use, once every 3 to 6 weeks is usually enough. If you use your board heavily or rinse it frequently, once every 2 to 4 weeks is better. When water no longer beads on the surface, it is time to oil it.

No. A dishwasher is too hot and wet, which can warp and dry out wood or bamboo. Rinse briefly with warm water, use mild soap if needed and dry immediately.

This can happen when wood fibres rise slightly due to moisture or heavy use. Allow the board to dry completely first. If it still feels rough, sand it very lightly with fine-grit sandpaper, following the grain. Remove the dust and apply a thin coat of oil. This restores a smooth surface and keeps your board protected.

Never leave a burning candle unattended and always place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep it away from draughts, curtains and flammable materials. Keep children and pets at a safe distance, and do not let the candle burn all the way to the bottom.

Burn time depends on size. The 300 gram candle burns for around 30 hours; the 500 gram candle for around 50 hours. For the longest burn time, allow the candle to burn long enough each time and maintain the wick carefully.

On the first burn, allow enough time for the top layer of wax to melt all the way to the edge. This prevents tunnelling and helps the candle burn more evenly afterwards. This usually takes around 2 to 4 hours, depending on the size and conditions.

Tunnelling usually happens when a candle is not burned long enough each time, so the top layer of wax does not melt all the way to the edge. Next time, let the candle burn until the melt pool reaches the edge, usually 2 to 4 hours. Avoid burning it for much longer than about 4 hours at a time, and keep it away from draughts. Keep the wick short for a calm, even flame.

Allow the shell to cool completely, then carefully remove any remaining wax. Clean the shell with warm water and mild soap and let it dry thoroughly. Avoid soaking it in water and do not put it in the dishwasher.

The bird feeder is made from a 100% natural coconut shell. The little ladder is made from coconut wood. These natural materials contain no plastic, so every feeder has a unique shape and grain.

Both coconut shells and coconut wood are often treated as leftover material and sometimes burned as waste. Reusing them as bird feeders and little ladders gives them a second life and offers a conscious choice of natural product.

Hang the bird feeder in a safe, quiet spot in the garden. Use the sturdy natural rope and hang it at least 1.5 metres above the ground, out of reach of cats and other predators. Ideally, choose a place sheltered from wind and rain so birds can feed peacefully and safely.
